Another elite wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class is off the board after Sachse (Texas) five-star Kaliq Lockett committed to the Texas Longhorns and Steve Sarkisian on Wednesday.Following this decision, just sixof the 31 wideoutsin the updated Top247 rankings forthe cycleare available with the early signing period a few months away.

Texas beat out fellow finalistsAlabama, Florida State, LSU and Texas A&M fora commitment from Lockett, who has longterm potential as an early-round selection in the NFL Draft. He becomes the highest-rated pledge for the Longhorns this cycle and first Top247 five-star. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound wideout owns a 6-foot-7 wingspan and enormous hands. During his junior campaign, Lockett hauled in 59 passes for 1,299 yards and 13 touchdowns. He averaged 22.0 yards per reception.

The Top247 for the 2025 recruiting class will not be finalized until after the postseason all-star games in January. Two more updates are planned before then.

Where will Fulshear (Texas) Katy Jordan Top247 wide receiver Andrew Marsh end up? The 6-foot-1, 175-poundexplosivepass catcher took numerous official visits in recent months with trips to Kentucky, Michigan, Texas, USC and Washington. The Wolverines hold the edge in the Crystal Ball Predictions as a frequent host for Marsh, who now has a decision date locked in. Marsh caught 65 passes for 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. He has several yearsof varsity experience and was named the Texas District 19-6A Newcomer of the Year as a sophom*ore in 2022.

9. JonAnthony Hall — Committed to Stanford

Top247 standout JonAnthony Hall committed to the Cardinal. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound three-sport athlete has a 1,000-yards receiving season and a state championship MVP performance in basketball. During his junior campaign, Hall grabbed 69 passes for 1,055 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 15.3 yards per reception.

8. Dallas Wilson — Committed to Oregon

Oregon has long been known for its talent on offense. That trend is not changing under head coach Dan Lanning with the Ducks bringing in a quartet of four-star wideouts in the 2025 class, so far. Tampa (Fla.) Bay Tech Top247 prospect Dallas Wilson is among that group after making his commitment way back in January 2023. He did take additional official visits to nearby Florida State and Miami, but appears locked in to Oregon. Wilson caught 49 passes for 872 yards with nine touchdowns as a junior last season.

7. Vernell Brown III — Committed to Florida

The Gators came out on top in an in-state recruiting battle for Orlando (Fla.) Jones Top247 wide receiver Vernell Brown III in July. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound dynamic athlete picked Florida over finalists Florida State, Miami and Ohio State. He is a son of former Gators' defensive back Vernell Brown, who appeared in 45 games during his college career (2001-05) before serving in a variety of off-field roles at Florida (2018-2023). The younger Brown is a two-way player for Jones, doubling as the primary returner. He caught 70 passes for 1,363 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense while scoring three times on special teams — three punts and one kickoff. With a commitment from Brown, who else could be joining the Gators at receiver?

6. Derek Meadows — Committed to LSU

LSU lost one five-star wide receiver commit in the 2025 class, but gained another when Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman Top247 standout Derek Meadows made his pledge to the Tigers in July. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound big-bodied pass catcher made a number of official visits with Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and South Carolina also in the mix prior to his decision. Meadows helped Bishop Gorman win the Nevada 5A State Championship as a junior, catching 15 passes for 391 yards and eight touchdowns. He previously earned Nevada 2023 Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year. Now, he projects to be a key target in the future for LSU five-star quarterback commit Bryce Underwood.

5. Jerome Myles — Uncommitted

The top-ranked prospect in Utah is uncommitted after Jerome Myles back off his pledge to Ole Miss in June. The Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon five-star wideout continues to see a fresh wave of offers after his decision and is a prized recruit in the 2025 class. The list of schools that joined the mix in recent weeks includes Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and USC. Myles did take an official visit to Michigan in late July. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Top247 prospect played in five games during his junior season, catching 19 passes for 486 yards and six touchdowns with an average of 25.6 yards per reception. Myles produced five catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns in theUtah 6A State Championship.

Ffrench solidified his status as one of the top pass catchers in the 2025 class, being named the 'Alpha Dog' at the National Combine by 247Sports in January. He posted an impressive junior campaign as the leading receiver for Mandarin with 62 catches totaling 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Instead, Moore is locked in to Oregon as the headliner for an impressive haul. Moore caught 71 passes for 1,523 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 21.4 yards per reception as a junior. He led Duncanville to its second consecutive Texas 6A-1 State Championship in 2023.
