Badass 523kW pick-up now costs more than a quarter of a million dollars drive-away
The 2023 RAM 1500 TRX pick-up has had another $5000 slapped onto its already sky-high asking price, with the supercharged V8 super-ute now costing a cool $224,950 plus on-road costs – or more than $250,000 drive-away.
The new pricing came into effect as of July 1 and is the third of its kind in 13 months, as conversion and delivery wait times continue to hover at more than a year.
This time around, however, the hike can at least be attributed to a specification upgrade in the form of a new 12.0-inch infotainment interface as seen in the lesser DT-series RAM 1500s, the local ranks of which have just been bolstered by the arrival of the 2023 RAM 1500 Laramie Sport.
More supplies of the TRX are on their way from America in an attempt to reduce wait times, but at this stage it seems the extra allocations have had little effect on lead times with dealers revealing earlier this year that new orders would take at least 12 months to fill.
There’s been no word from RAM Trucks Australia on whether existing RAM TRX orders will be price-protected, but we wouldn’t expect so given the spec upgrade that comes with the latest price hike.
